With its sugary flavor, the Sweet Treat Carrot really does taste sweet. As a vigorous cultivar, it produces sturdy orange carrots up to around 5-6 inches in length. Best sown from late spring onwards, its tasty carrots can be harvested in as little as 10 weeks. As a low-maintenance crop, once planted the Sweet Treat Carrot needs little ongoing care.

Sweet Treat Carrot Plant Care

For the largest and tastiest carrots, this Sweet Treat cultivar should be grown in full sun. Carrots require a well-prepared, light and fertile soil that is free draining; compacted or stony ground can inhibit their growth. If untended, weeds can smother carrots and should be removed by hand during the growing season.

Growing Sweet Treat Carrot Plant

Carrots require as much sunlight as possible, about 6 to 8 hours per day to really thrive. When given the right conditions, the Sweet Treat Carrot Plant can produce decent-sized, harvestable carrots in around 70 days. As a sun-loving crop, carrots tend to grow best in a south-facing site outdoors.

Carrots can grow well in pots or containers and can be a great vegetable to grow even if you don’t have much space. If growing Sweet Treat Carrot in a container, drainage holes must be present and a minimum pot width and depth of 12 inches is advisable.

Watering Sweet Treat Carrot Plant

Carrots are almost drought tolerant once they begin to grow well. Nevertheless, they do need watering during hot and dry spells, especially when grown in a container.

Feeding Sweet Treat Carrot Plant

To encourage maximum yields, carrots can benefit from being fertilized, either during the growing season or when preparing the soil prior to planting. A low-nitrogen fertilizer is considered best to boost root development.
