Truffula Pink Globe Amaranth Care
Easy to maintain, Globe Amaranth needs six-plus hours of sunlight daily. Trim this plant early in the Spring to encourage a bushy center, but otherwise, no deadheading is needed. The ideal soil needs to be slightly acidic and well-draining. Add compost or fertilizer to landscapes annually and add a balanced fertilizer regularly when planting in containers.
Gomphrena does not tolerate frost and it is considered a tender annual in zones 8 and below. Typically it does not overwinter well. It is hardy in zones 9 to 11.
Truffula Pink Globe Amaranth Spacing
In landscape planting or mass planting, allow a 12 to 18-inch space between plants. Use a 12 to 14-inch pot when planting in containers. Allow at least a 6-inch space between plants when planting in containers.
