Peace Lilies are the ideal choice for novice gardeners, and for good reason. They require minimal care and adapt well to various light and humidity levels in the home. The Domino Peace Lily features subtle yet striking variegation on its long, strap-like leaves, which can grow up to a foot in length when mature. This cultivar, Spathiphyllum ‘Domino,’ complements solid or deeply colored tropical plants beautifully. Although it is a hybrid, it would blend effortlessly with other varieties of the genus native to Colombia and Venezuela.

Best Locations For Growing Variegated Domino Peace Lily

Renowned for their air-purifying qualities, Peace Lilies enhance oxygen levels through efficient photosynthesis and respiration, making them beneficial for any room. They adapt well to low light and require minimal maintenance to remain vibrant. Note that Peace Lilies are toxic to pets and small children, so keep them out of reach.

To retain moisture longer between waterings, plant your Peace Lily in a plastic pot. You can enhance its aesthetic by placing the plastic pot inside a decorative ceramic container or any water-tight vessel without drainage holes, commonly known as a cache pot.

Variegated Domino Peace Lily Sunlight Requirements

Provide your Peace Lily with bright indirect light from an east or north-facing window, which will help maintain the coloration of the foliage and promote blooming. It can thrive in offices or rooms lacking natural light, provided there is fluorescent or LED lighting for at least 10 hours daily, although blooming may be less reliable.

Variegated Domino Peace Lily Care

Use a moisture-retentive yet well-draining potting mix containing ingredients like perlite, coco coir, vermiculite, finely shredded bark, and pumice. Regularly wipe the broad leaves to clear dust and maintain the glossy appearance.

Peace Lilies are also popular in aquascapes, thriving in water alongside Betta fish and other plants. When used in aquariums, ensure only the roots are submerged, keeping the foliage upright.

Watering Variegated Domino Peace Lily

Maintain consistent watering to help the Peace Lily keep its upright leaves and continue growing steadily. Check the soil weekly during spring and summer, allowing the top 1-2 inches to dry out before watering. In fall and winter, growth slows, so reduce watering frequency to every 10-14 days. Peace Lilies adapt well to varying humidity levels, flourishing in both average and more tropical environments.

Feeding Variegated Domino Peace Lily

While not heavy feeders, Peace Lilies benefit from a regular fertilizing schedule. Feed monthly with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer from March to August. Extra fertilizing will not promote flowering in immature plants. These plants typically bloom after 3-4 years. Short, green flower heads may indicate excessive nitrogen or over-fertilizing.

Plant Addicts Warranty - 1 Year (Extra Purchase Required)

We encourage all plant lovers to purchase the Plant Addicts Warranty, whether you're a new gardener or an expert. There are many variables outside of anyone's control that can cause a plant to die. Hungry animals, drought, poor soil conditions, over watering, diseases & pests are all good examples of what can cause plants to die. The Plant Addicts Warranty is a 1 year warranty protecting you from all of the unknowns and will replace your plant if something were to happen to it.

The warranty is purchased on a per plant basis and must be purchased at the same time as the plant(s). We will cover 100% of the price of the plant, but the warranty does not cover shipping costs. SImply let us know if your plant has died within 1 year of receiving it and we will get you a new one shipped out as soon as possible (depending on the time of the year and availability). We may ask for photos for documentation purposes, but we try to make the process as easy as possible.

Guarantee and Warranty

Plant Shipping

Below are some factors we consider when determining when to ship the plants depending on the timing of the order.

Winter to Early Spring

We ship only when it's warm enough to plant in your growing zone.
Sometimes plants aren't completely ready to sell and ship in early spring. We will wait until the plants are ready before shipping so you don't get a subpar product.
For Southern plants we will be able to ship much earlier than plants coming from our northern nursery.

Summer

If there is extreme heat we may delay shipping for a week or several weeks.
We review what areas the plants are traveling through as well as your location.

Fall into Winter

We’ll ship plants out all the way up to the end of the fall planting season!

Winter

Get your order in early to reserve your plants for Spring planting!

Once your plant is shipped you’ll receive an automated email with tracking information.
