Freedom Roses have become known for their easy care and fantastic coloring that defies even the hottest summer. The 2-N-1 Freedom Rose Shrub Duo combines a truly red rose with a candy pink rose for a gorgeous curated look. Reblooming roses like Freedom Red and Pink help to bridge the seasons between perennials and bulbs and give your whole landscape a boost of long-term color. The original Freedom Red Shrub Rose was bred in Colombia for the cut flower market and imported to the United States for home gardeners after 2001.

Freedom Roses are resistant to most pests and diseases. Pollinators are sure to gather around the fully double flowers throughout the summer and long into the fall. The strong, upright stems are ideal for arrangements. Use these beauties to create a low-growing hedge, or plant them in containers to decorate an outdoor seating area.

2-N-1 Freedom Rose Shrub Duo Care

Shrub roses require well-drained but moisture-retentive soil. Mulching with shredded leaves, arborist chips or compost annually will improve the water-holding ability of most garden soils. Deep, rich, and loamy soil is ideal for growing healthy and vigorous roses, although any soil that has good year-round drainage is acceptable. Fertilize with a slow-release feed in the early spring and again in mid-summer to support nonstop blooming and healthy foliage. Choose organic brands that are blended for roses and/or tomatoes (NPK ratio ~1-4-3). Fertilizers that are high in nItrogen will encourage dense foliage growth at the expense of flower formation.

Annual pruning is best done while the shrubs are still dormant in late winter or early spring. Remove any stems damaged over the winter, cutting at ground level if possible. Freedom Roses are grown on their own rootstock and will regrow easily from the base. Remove any old stems or dead material in late winter to promote an open form and good air circulation. Deadhead spent flower heads by following the stem inside of the shrub. Cut just above a leaf joint or bud on the stem to promote a dense and compact shape.

Container-grown roses require extra attention to watering and fertilizing. Use a diluted liquid fertilizer formulated for roses and tomatoes once a month from March to August.

2-N-1 Freedom Rose Shrub Duo Spacing

Freedom Shrub Rose reaches 4-6 feet high and wide. Allow 4 feet of space between plants to establish a dense hedge. Specimens or informal groups of Freedom Rose Shrubs need a spacing of around 5 feet.

Plant Addicts Warranty - 1 Year (Extra Purchase Required)

We encourage all plant lovers to purchase the Plant Addicts Warranty, whether you're a new gardener or an expert. There are many variables outside of anyone's control that can cause a plant to die. Hungry animals, drought, poor soil conditions, over watering, diseases & pests are all good examples of what can cause plants to die. The Plant Addicts Warranty is a 1 year warranty protecting you from all of the unknowns and will replace your plant if something were to happen to it.

The warranty is purchased on a per plant basis and must be purchased at the same time as the plant(s). We will cover 100% of the price of the plant, but the warranty does not cover shipping costs. SImply let us know if your plant has died within 1 year of receiving it and we will get you a new one shipped out as soon as possible (depending on the time of the year and availability). We may ask for photos for documentation purposes, but we try to make the process as easy as possible.

Guarantee and Warranty

Plant Shipping

Below are some factors we consider when determining when to ship the plants depending on the timing of the order.

Winter to Early Spring

We ship only when it's warm enough to plant in your growing zone.
Sometimes plants aren't completely ready to sell and ship in early spring. We will wait until the plants are ready before shipping so you don't get a subpar product.
For Southern plants we will be able to ship much earlier than plants coming from our northern nursery.

Summer

If there is extreme heat we may delay shipping for a week or several weeks.
We review what areas the plants are traveling through as well as your location.

Fall into Winter

We’ll ship plants out all the way up to the end of the fall planting season!

Winter

Get your order in early to reserve your plants for Spring planting!

Once your plant is shipped you’ll receive an automated email with tracking information.
