For a large injection of color to a garden border, try the 3N1 Hydrangea. This plant is a mix of three hydrangeas including 'Penny Mac', 'Nikko Blue' and 'Snow Storm' all in one pot. It produces large mophead blooms in shades of blue, purple, red, violet and white. Flowering from summer to fall, the 3N1 Hydrangea grows to an impressive 6 feet tall.

From summer onwards, stunning flowers almost conceal the lush green mound of foliage underneath. With its origins in Asia, the 3N1 Hydrangea is suitable for growing in USDA zones 6 to 9. The 3N1 Hydrangea is hardy and vigorous and will come back year after year with the right care. It is perfect for adding color to a large border or creating a focal point.

3N1 Hydrangea Care

The 3N1 Hydrangea performs and flowers best when it is grown in dappled or partial shade. It favors a fertile and well-drained substrate. Sufficient moisture if essential over the growing season to prevent the leaves from wilting. Aim for a moist, but not overly wet soil where possible. Fertilize in early spring with an all-purpose balanced feed or one that is specifically formulated for hydrangeas.

If required, you can prune this hydrangea after the flowers fade back to a pair of buds. When branches die back, you can remove them at any time of year.

3N1 Hydrangea Spacing

Over time, the 3N1 Hydrangea can grow to around 6 feet tall and wide. When planting out, you can space this shrub around 6 feet from others to give it room to mature.
