The Abracadabra® Star Hydrangea, hydrangea macrophylla 'Horabstra' PP: 21636, is a beautiful shrub with lacecap flowers. The flowers are pink and white lacecaps on black satin stems. These pink and white flowers are great for cuttings, and change between the two colors depending on the soil pH. The contrast between the flowers and stems are is what make this bush truly remarkable. The shrub also has a tall & upright growing behavior, which provides a great background with added depth to any garden. The tall dark stems stand out all year long, even when the shrubs aren’t blooming. These also make great border plants in the landscape.
Abracadabra Star Hydrangea Care
The bushes require partial sunlight to full sunlight. Like most lacecap hydrangeas, these require a lot of moisture but well drained soil to prevent root rot. These shrubs do not require pruning unless you need to control the size, or to remove sick and dead branches and leaves. Since this shrub blooms on old wood, do not prune late in the year, as you can cut off flower buds for the following year.

Plant these 4 to 5 feet wide, center on center. For a hedge, you can plant 3 to 4 feet wide.
