This grass is going to bring excitement and color to your yard and containers! It is a completely gold grass that shimmers in the shade. It slowly spreads through rhizomes and grows heartily and provides interest in the fall. Its cascading blades that arch make for an impressive plant.
It's all about the foliage with this one. It is bright gold and cascades in mounds of slim, arching blades that can appear chartreuse in the shade. In the sun, this one is pure gold. Throughout the fall it turns into a blush pink. Come winter, it turns tan before dying back. In late summer you will find petite red-brown blooms popping up if you look closely. It is also not bothered by deer. The All Gold Japanese Forest Grass spreads slowly but can reach a spread of eighteen to twenty-four inches with a height of nine to fourteen inches. You will find it is a great addition to containers. Use for mass planting, as a focal point, border plant, or edging planting.

The All Gold Japanese Forest Grass does best when planting in shade to part shade. A rich soil that is loamy is best for this one. Soil should be well drained and moist. It won’t tolerate clay soils, extremely dry soils, or soils that aren’t well drained. Ph levels can range from acidic to neutral. Mulching around the base in the winter will be beneficial. In the spring remove mulch and cut back foliage. The All Gold Japanese Forest Grass spreads slowly through rhizomes and won’t need to be divided for many years. Water needs are average.
