All That Glows Viburnum, Viburnum dentatum var. deamii 'SMVDBL', is a new and improved viburnum by Proven Winners ColorChoice. This plant has shiny and glossy foliage like we’ve never seen before! These shrubs are native to North America and very easy to care for.
In order for this shrub to produce berries, you need to plant it’s pollinator All the Glitters Viburnum nearby. This bush will be covered in hundreds of white flowers in early summer, which turn into shiny blue berries afterwards.
Plant these shrubs in mass plantings, as a hedge, or as a border. We like to use these as a main focal point in garden planters, also known as the “thriller”. Just be sure to plant at least 1 of each, so the shrubs produce berries, which not only look beautiful, but the berries are also great for wildlife. These shrubs are also very deer resistant.
All That Glows Viburnum Care
This bush is widely adaptable to most soils, as long as it is well drained. Plant in an area that receives 5 to 8 hours of sunlight. To fertilize, use a slow release fertilizer designed for shrubs or woody material. Apply in early spring, before the plant starts to bloom if possible.
Pruning All That Glows Viburnum is not necessary. With the compact size of only 4-5 feet tall and wide, you should not need to prune ever. Be sure to trim off dead or sick branches, but do not prune, because you will be risking cutting off flowers and future berries.
All That Glows Viburnum Spacing
Plant these 48 inches apart to create a beautiful hedge. If you are doing a mass planting or garden border, it is best to plant around 72 inches apart center on center.
These are also great for garden planters. If you grow in a planter, be sure to choose a container large enough to give the roots plenty of room to grow and ensure the soil doesn’t dry out too fast. We recommend at least a medium sized planter.
