Are you in search of a light yellow flowering perennial to add to your landscape? Leucanthemum superbum just might be the right flower for you! With a name that just may make you hungry, these flowers start off with a bright yellow flower bud and fully open up to a creamy white flower. Considered a medium sized perennial, this will reach up to 24” tall and about 22” wide. The bloom time is early-late summer and blooms prolifically atop dark green foliage. Even better, this perennial is easy to maintain!
Looking for something that is pollinator friendly? Bees and butterflies will gladly visit your yard with this addition! There are so many uses for this perennial within your home and garden as it is versatile in all styles of planting and usage. Used for cut flowers in floral arrangements, border planting, general landscaping, container gardening and mass planting, its uses are endless!
Amazing Daisies® Banana Cream II Shasta Daisy Care
This beautiful perennial is hardy in zones 5-9. In cooler climates, this does best in full sun, however it will tolerate partial sun. In warmer climates, partial shade is recommended to keep from scorching the flowers and foliage alike. Plant this in average or fertile soil for best results. Soil pH should be neutral or slightly acidic. To ensure it survives wintery conditions, make certain that the soil drains sufficiently to keep the roots from rotting.
Pruning is not necessary, however this perennial benefits from deadheading spent blooms. If the flower buds are sporadic and you want a more consistent bloom experience early in the season, it is recommended to pinch off the few early buds and allow time for more flower buds to grow.
Amazing Daisies® Banana Cream II Shasta Daisy Spacing
In most planting applications, the spacing is recommended to be about 20”-22” on center. Allow a minimum of 16”-18” on center for container gardening. If planting closer together, keep an eye on new growth and ensure that this does not become overcrowded with neighboring plants.
