The silvery-white foliage is the namesake trait of the Angel Wings® Senecio. This annual is grown for its broad leaves that add an unexpected flair to an outdoor space. The Senecio candicans stands out, but it also complements other plants, making it a great choice for combination plantings. The large white foliage nicely plays off of bright flowers or the more traditional green hues of other plants or feature this plant on its own to create a memorable, monochromatic planting.

This plant is very easy to maintain and surprisingly durable. The unique foliage is heat- and drought-tolerant, so this plant can easily withstand intense summer weather while looking fantastic. Senecio is a mounded annual that makes for an excellent container plant where it can be used as a filler or a thriller.

Angel Wings® Senecio Care

The Angel Wings® Senecio prefers part to full sun, so select a spot that receives at least 4 to 6 hours of sunlight. This plant requires consistently moist soil, but overly wet soil will damage the roots, so water when the top layer starts to dry out and use well-draining, neutral soil. Feed the plant using balanced, water-soluble fertilizer once a month.

Senecio candicans will die back when the weather turns chilly, or the plant can be brought indoors for the winter. As a houseplant, the Angel Wings® Senecio requires bright sunlight and will need water after the soil has dried out.

Angel Wings® Senecio Spacing

The Angel Wings® Senecio will reach 12 to 18 inches tall and spread out 12 to 24 inches. When used as part of a landscape, space plants 12 to 24 inches apart or feature 1 or 2 plants in a 12-inch container.
