  • Light Requirement is Full Sun
  • Height 18-30 Inches
  • Width 12-18 Inches
  • Use as a thriller when using in containers
  • Continuous frosty lavender blooms!

Revisit Grandma’s garden by planting this improved hybrid of Angelonia, a summer snapdragon. This continuous bloomer will stand its own in a border along your drive or sidewalk, and lends itself to container gardens with its semi-upright, full branching habit. Its frosty lavender color blends beautifully with dark purples, whites and light pinks. A plus: the lance-like medium green leaves emit a fragrance reminiscent of grape soda.

Angelonia is a native to Mexico and the West Indies and like its ancestor, AngelFace Steel Blue will enjoy the deep South, or the Southwest US (with a little extra water in the driest areas) and all other regions. Perennial in Zones 10a, 10b, 11a and 11b, this flower is an annual in Zones 3-9. Light lavender flowers, with contrasting color angel faces, will light up a part sun area, but this looker prefers full sun when possible.

Angelface Steel Blue Summer Snapdragon Care

Woodland fringe gardeners, here is your foundation plant that likes slightly acidic soil. Dress with a couple inches of compost for a dazzling display of flowers all season long. A beautiful addition to your spring, summer and fall garden, this rebloomer will happily fill that troublesome spot that is too wet or too dry, is drought tolerant and is not attractive to deer.

Not fond of deadheading to maintain continued blooms? AngelFace Steel Blue does not require deadheading and will not reseed and take over your garden. Another benefit of this beautiful annual is that it will provide you a nearly unending supply of cut flowers for your floral arrangements. No pruning needed here.

Angelface Steel Blue Summer Snapdragon Spacing

With a full height of 24 to 30 inches and width of 12 to 16 inches, this annual will compliment a colorful mixture of annuals and perennials in an informal cottage garden as well. Just give it elbow room by planting 12-24 inches apart to help facilitate air flow and prevent powdery mildew, one of the few problems this plant can experience and in warm humid climates it will double and triple its size.
