This new plant has all the old-fashioned appeal of snapdragons or foxgloves – in fact, it’s sometimes called summer snapdragon - with longer-lasting blooms that can take the heat and just keep going. Angelface Wedgwood Blue Angelonia creates a bevy of charming spires of deep purple and white that pack the stems from top to bottom. They can last ten days in a vase. When you cut some to bring indoors, you’ll notice the foliage smells like grape soda! It’s an indispensable vertical accent for pots, the garden, and floral arrangements.

It’s clear why this is an award-winner 21 times over. In addition to being low-maintenance, Angelface Wedgwood Blue Angelonia is free-flowering, heat- and drought-tolerant, as well as deer-resistant. Wedgwood Blue will reach from 18 to 30 inches high and about 18 inches wide, making a dramatic and reliable thriller for containers, or a long-blooming stunner for borders, mass plantings, and cutting gardens.

Angelface® Wedgwood Blue Summer Snapdragon Care

Angelonia plants crave heat and full sun, so the ideal time to plant in most regions is mid-spring or later – even through summer. They can tolerate wet feet and even some drought.

Deadheading is unnecessary to keep the show going, but a mid-season prune may be in order to promote full bushy branching. In the landscape a simple dressing on top of the planting with compost or aged cow manure should be all you need to keep Wedgwood Blue happy. In pots, regular fertilization is recommended, using either slow-release or liquid fertilizer.

Angelface® Wedgwood Blue Summer Snapdragon Spacing

An appropriate spacing for Wedgwood Blue Angelonia would be 10- 14 inches apart from other plants. This gives the plant enough space to grow healthy once it reaches mature size, by allowing proper air circulation and room for the roots to grow.
