Growing Zones
The Angyo Star Fatshedera is a very unique vine that can be grown outdoors in most sunlight conditions, or indoors as a houseplant. The large variegated leaves really stand out as the plant climbs up the trellis or other support. The plant is also evergreen, which provides interest year round!
This plant is a hybrid between between Fatsia japonica and English ivy, but with the positive characteristics of both plants. It can provide unique foliage interest in shaded areas, but also tolerate sunny locations as well.
Angyo Star Fatshedera Care
The plant does best in 4-5 hours of direct sunlight (partial shade to partial sun). But it can handle full shade or full sun as well. Grow the plant inside as a houseplant as well, given it gets bright sunlight most of the day. The plant will need a stake to grow on. But the plant will not become invasive and spread to unwanted parts, like on stucco or up the wall. Apply a slow release fertilizer each year in the spring as new growth emerges.
Pruning Angyo Star Fatshedera is not required, but if you choose to prune, do so in early spring. Trim back sick or dead parts of the plant at any time of the year.
Angyo Star Fatshedera Spacing
Plant these vines 3 to 4 feet apart, center on center, for the best plant health. If you would like space between the plants, then space at least 5 feet apart.
