Autumn Ivory Encore Azalea is covered in bright white, single flowers in spring and again in summer, providing a long-lasting color display. Rhododendron 'Roblev' PP25046 grows about 2.5 feet tall and 3 feet wide, with glossy evergreen foliage that keeps the planting tidy between bloom cycles. It is one of the smallest white-blooming Encore selections, and its dwarf habit makes it especially easy to place. Our landscape designer often uses it at the front of foundation beds where a clean white flower can brighten darker brick, stone, or shaded entry corners.

This dwarf reblooming azalea was bred for heavy flower production on a dense, low-growing plant. Its 2-inch blooms give borders and containers a crisp look, while the dark green leaves may take on purple tones during cool weather. Autumn Ivory Encore Azalea is hardy in Zones 7-10 and performs best with several hours of morning sun. Use it for low hedges, mass plantings, path edges, porch pots, and small garden beds where it can brighten the design.

Autumn Ivory Encore Azalea Care

Give Autumn Ivory Encore Azalea light shade to full sun, with 4 to 6 hours of direct sun helping the plant set more flower buds. Morning sun, high filtered light, or gentle afternoon protection works well in hot Southern gardens. Plant it in organically rich, well-drained acidic soil, ideally around pH 5.0 to 6.5.

During the first season, soak the root zone twice weekly in normal weather and add a third watering during heat waves or dry wind. Established plants can handle drier periods, but reblooming is stronger when the soil stays lightly moist through summer. Feed after the spring flower display with a slow-release azalea fertilizer. Keep pine bark mulch over the shallow roots, leaving a small open ring around the stems.

Prune Autumn Ivory Encore Azalea right after spring flowering, using hand pruners to shorten tall shoots inside the rounded outline of the shrub. Remove cold-tipped or broken stems when new growth shows which branches are still healthy. In containers, refresh the upper few inches of potting mix each spring and protect pots from hard freezes in Zone 7 gardens.

Autumn Ivory Encore Azalea Spacing

For a continuous low hedge, plant Autumn Ivory Encore Azalea 2.5 to 3 feet apart on center. Give individual shrubs about 5 feet of room in mixed borders so each plant keeps its rounded shape. Use a 16-inch container with drainage holes, and step up one pot size when roots begin circling the inside of the container.

Great companion plants include heather, fothergilla, and leucothoe, planted in acidic beds with bright filtered light and well-drained soil. Primrose and lungwort can add early-season color near the front of the planting where soil stays evenly moist. In containers, use fuchsia, wishbone flowers, or impatiens for seasonal color in protected light with regular watering.
