Exceptionally compact, the Baby Doll Pink garden phlox is an alternative to other early blooming but taller phlox. Medium clear pink flowers with white eyes form a mass of blooms atop dark green foliage. The fragrant flowers attract butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds. It is also deer resistant and drought tolerant with few maintenance needs.

Tuck this hybrid phlox into small spaces in the garden to fill space. It is an excellent filler plant to go along a border in front of taller plants. The Baby Doll Pink stays small enough that it makes a suitable choice for container plantings. Phlox is native to North America, so this pollinator-friendly hybrid selection is useful for gardeners striving for a natural feel in the landscape.

Baby Doll Pink Garden Phlox Care

Position this phlox in full sunlight to encourage the best flowering and avoid disease problems. It requires at least three hours of direct sunlight daily to thrive. This plant is drought tolerant once established but benefits from regular watering during dry spells. Water the soil around the plant and avoid wetting the foliage unnecessarily. Fertilize lightly each month with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer during the early part of the growing season to encourage vigor.

Cut the phlox back nearly to the ground after flowering to encourage a rebloom. Perform another hard pruning to remove the foliage after the first killing frost in fall.

Baby Doll Pink Garden Phlox Spacing

This phlox grows 10 to 12 inches tall with a spread of 14 to 16 inches. Give each plant about 14 inches of room.
