Bountiful blooms and a vigorous climbing growth habit make the Blaze Climbing Rose a focal point in any landscape. The flowers grow in clusters, creating large bunches of vibrant blooms. The outer petals of the bright red flowers gently bend back, exposing a full and lush bloom. This continuous bloomer will get its first flush of flowers in the summer, and it will continue to bloom until the early fall.

This plant is an adept climber and needs a trellis or structure for support. This Rose can easily climb a fence to create a lovely blooming border or cover a drab structure. Climbing Roses are fast-growers and need full sun, so select a spot that can support a large plant and will receive plenty of light. This plant is a perennial in USDA zones 6 through 8.

Blaze Climbing Rose Care

This sun-loving climbing rose needs full sun to thrive. Plant in an area that receives at least 6 to 8 hours of direct light. Use rich soil that is well-drained and acidic to slightly acidic. Blaze Climbing Rose plants need 1 to 2 inches of water each week. Water the ground around the plant and keep the foliage dry to prevent mold or fungal disease. Place organic mulch around the base of the plant to hold back weeds and retain moisture.

Fertilize in the spring and again after the first flush of blooms fade using balanced plant food. Do not trim the plant for the first two years, but prune underperforming growth on established plants in the fall. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage more growth.

Blaze Climbing Rose Spacing

This plant is fast-growing and can be aggressive in how quickly it will overtake an arbor or other vine supports. The Blaze Climbing Rose will reach 12 to 14 feet tall and 12 to 14 feet wide. Space plants 6 feet apart to cover a structure or fence.
