Blue Girl Hybrid Tea Rose is a real garden show-stopper! The delightful fragrance is often described as a fruity mix of lilac and rose scents. The rare petal color starts as a beautiful soft lavender and ages to powder blue; the flowers are held nicely on long, sturdy stems. Blue Girl is fantastic both in the landscape and in floral arrangements. This Hybrid Tea Rose is disease resistant and a vigorous, continual bloomer.
Each centered bloom grows about 5 inches tall with 30-40 beautiful, lavender, soft petals. Blue Girl grows in hardiness zones 5 - 8, reaching heights of 3-4 ft with a 2-3 ft spread. This cultivar is considered a perfect rose for cutting, and because of its exceptional form and unique color, it easily becomes the focal flower in stunning floral arrangements.
Blue Girl Hybrid Tea Rose Care
Plant Blue Girl Hybrid Tea Rose in full sun, in well-draining soil, amended with plenty of organic matter. Water it weekly or more often during the hot, dry summer months. Deadhead the spent blooms to refresh and encourage more continual blooms.
Feed Blue Girl with a bloom-boosting fertilizer specifically formulated for roses once a month during its growing season. Focus watering on the root zone, and avoid splashing the leaves to deter mildew. Smaller hybrid tea roses can do well planted in containers, but they will need additional winter protection if kept in a planter above ground, particularly if grown in colder hardiness zones.
Blue Girl Hybrid Tea Rose Spacing
Blue Girl can be planted singly or in groupings to deliver a dynamic effect. Blue Girl Hybrid Tea rose will spread up to 3 ft. Its upright vessel habit looks right at home and is stunning in front of a clipped evergreen box hedge for a formal look. If planting in groups, be sure to give each plant at least 3 feet between plant centers for proper air circulation.
