The calming blue-violet flowers of the Blue Improved EnduraScape™ Verbena will be a welcome addition to any garden. Growing to around 12 inches tall, this verbena produces stunning blooms from spring through summer on top of its dense green foliage. With great disease resistance, the Blue Improved EnduraScape™ Verbena is easy to grow and care for.
The Blue Improved EnduraScape™ Verbena can tolerate high summer temperatures and some frost in climates with a mild winter. As such it can be grown as a perennial in zones 8 to 11 or as an annual elsewhere. Producing an upright yet spreading habit, it is perfect for growing at the front of a border or planting up a container.
Blue Improved EnduraScape™ Verbena Care
The Blue Improved EnduraScape™ Verbena performs best when it is grown in full sun. It favors a fertile and well-drained substrate. It does not tolerate being over-watered, so let the top layer of soil dry out before watering. Fertilizing with a slow-release or liquid feed over the growing season will help support reblooming.
Pruning is not strictly required. Nevertheless, you can lightly trim after the flowers fade to promote new growth and buds.
Blue Improved EnduraScape™ Verbena Spacing
The Blue Improved EnduraScape™ Verbena can grow to a final size of 8 to 12 inches tall and 18 to 24 inches wide. When grown en masse for a block of color, you can space this plant around 16 to 18 inches apart.
