Bubblegum Candles Speedwell, also referred to as Veronica, produces a profusion of deep rose-pink flower spikes starting in early summer and continuing throughout most of the growing season. This perennial grows to 10 inches in height and width, in a low-mounding, compact shape.

Bubblegum Candles Speedwell is a very compact, colorful perennial with cheery, bright-green foliage on a tidy form. It’s a preferred plant for edging a walkway or planting in front of a mixed perennial border. The profusion of vivid deep-pink flowers appearing from June through August is a magnet for bees and butterflies. It grows in USDA Hardiness zones 4-8.

Bubblegum Candles Speedwell Care

Bubblegum Candles Speedwell thrives in full sun for best flowering but can handle partial sun locations. Mix some organic compost into well-draining soil, and maintain evenly moist soil, particularly during the hot, dry summer months. Prune lightly to shape if needed; deadhead spent flowers to extend bloom time.

This Speedwell grows well in containers with adequate drainage holes. When planting in the landscape, apply a thin layer of organic compost followed by a 2-inch layer of mulch to maintain soil moisture, slowly add nutrients, and suppress weeds.

Bubblegum Candles Speedwell Spacing

Due to its compact form, Bubblegum Candles is perfect for planting in patio containers, as low hedging, or in mass groups in mixed borders for a show of long-lasting, vibrant color. Be sure to space Bubblegum Candles 12 inches apart.
