The striking white blooms of the Butter & Sugar Siberian Iris will brighten up a bed or border from June through July. The Iris sibirica features crisp white upright and drooping petals with yellow falls. Each stalk produces several delicate flowers. Green, narrow, sword-shaped foliage grows around the base of the plant and stays in place for the remainder of the growing season after the blooms fade.

Feature these dainty flowers in beds, borders, or mass plantings. Butterflies are drawn to the blooms, but the plant is deer resistant. The Butter & Sugar Siberian Iris is a clump-forming plant that is low maintenance and drought-tolerant, although it will do best with consistent moisture. Grow this Iris as a perennial in USDA zones 3 through 8.

Butter & Sugar Siberian Iris Care

The Butter & Sugar Siberian Iris requires full sun to partial shade. The right spot will have at least 4 to 6 hours of sunlight. Use sandy or loamy soil that is acidic to neutral and moist but well-drained. Water weekly or when the top couple of inches of soil dry out.

Feed the plant using balanced fertilizer in the early spring. Spent flowers can be removed, but leave the foliage in place to continue to add greenery throughout the growing season. Divide the plant during midsummer or early fall.

Butter & Sugar Siberian Iris Spacing

This upright, clump-forming plant will grow 28 inches tall and 24 to 30 inches wide. Plant the Butter & Sugar Siberian Iris as close as 22 to 28 inches apart to create a full bed or continuous planting.
