A perfectly proportionate coneflower. This drought tolerant plant produces large and fragrant blooms. Pollinators love the Butterfly 'Purple Emperor' Coneflower. It has a rich magenta color that turns pink as the blooms age. This is a sturdy coneflower that is resistant to deer.

Foliage for the Butterfly 'Purple Emperor' Coneflower is upright and forms in a bush like habit. It has a deep green color with the garden height reaching fifteen to eighteen inches. The flowers are fragrant and a beautiful magenta purple. This coneflower stays relatively compact and will reach a spread of twelve to sixteen inches. Bloom season for this coneflower is mid through late summer. Use in mass planting or border planting. This plant loves the sun and the heat. Plant in full sun where it is warm, for best results. It will tolerate very light shade. The Butterfly 'Purple Emperor' Coneflower will tolerate different Ph levels and varying soil types. However, soil should have good drainage. Water needs are average but, it is drought tolerant once established. Fertilize yearly in the spring with an organic fertilizer. Deadheading will improve appearance and help to encourage a better flowering season.

The warranty is purchased on a per plant basis and must be purchased at the same time as the plant purchase. We will cover 100% of the price of the plant but the warranty does not cover shipping cost. Simply let us know if your plant has died within one year of receiving it and we’ll get you a new one shipped out. We may ask for photos for documentation purposes but again we’ll try to make it as easy as possible.
