Whether you are new to gardening, or a gardening veteran, Candy Cane Cocktail™ Rose will dazzle and spark interest in your garden space. Flower clusters of white and vivid pink petals develop dark red edges as the flower matures, offering a delightful display of color as the flower unfolds. Candy Cane Cocktail Rose is disease resistant, low maintenance and offers continuous blooms from spring to fall. It is a must for gardens of all sizes.
Rosa Candy Cane Cocktail™ Rose is a Floribunda type rose, which means it has the best of all worlds. A compact, round growth habit of 3-4’ tall and 3-4’ width is the perfect size to plant as a single garden feature or as a mass planting to add dramatic color to your landscape beds. It is drought tolerant, deer resistant, and low maintenance while offering an abundance of blooms. The American Rose Trials for Sustainability selected Candy Cane Cocktail™ Rose as a winner for its disease resistance and bloom performance.
Candy Cane Cocktail™ Rose Care
Candy Cane Cocktail™ Rose is easy to care for. For the best results, plant Candy Cane in part to full sun. Part sun is a minimum of 4 hours of sunlight; full sun is 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day. Plant in well-drained soil, meaning the soil drains well after watering or rain. Deep watering sessions spread out over the week can help Candy Cane develop drought tolerance. Add plenty of organic matter such as peat moss, compost and manure to the soil to promote healthy growth. Water the newly planted rose thoroughly and continue watering once every three or four days to help the roots settle in over the next two weeks. Fertilize once in the spring after the last frost with a balanced shrub fertilizer.
Candy Cane Cocktail™ Rose is low maintenance when it comes to trimming and pruning. Trim to shape as little or often as you prefer. To promote quicker reblooming, lightly trim across the top foliage once the blooms fade, although this isn’t necessary for reblooming. To keep the foliage full and lush, cut back the canes hard once every few years; this will give the shrub vigorous new foliage growth.
Candy Cane Cocktail™ Spacing
Candy Cane Cocktail™ Rose grows 3-4’ wide. Plant at least 4’ from the center of the next plant. This allows good airflow, which is essential for roses. Plant the bushes farther apart if you’d like more clearance around each plant. Candy Cane is very versatile according to your personal design aesthetics.
