Carolina Jessamine, Gelsemium sempervirens, is a fragrant, flowering glossy evergreen vine with bright yellow flowers that appear in late winter and spring. Vigorous grower for trellis and arbor, fences or walls. Can also be grown as a ground cover with a yearly cutting. Works well in containers. Can tolerate an occasional frost.

Plant in well drained, rich soil. Water regularly to establish. Drought tolerant but responds well to regular watering during periods of drought. Fertilize in spring.
To encourage fuller growth, prune tips of the vine after flowering.
