Making it ideal for privacy hedges or windbreaks. The foliage is dark green and glossy, which provides a great contrast to the red berries. The botanical name for this is Ilex x meserveae 'Hachfee'.
Be sure to plant this next to a pollinator like Castle Wall Blue Holly in order for the shrub to produce bright red berries. The berries are not edible, but are great for winter interst and birds love them. These shrubs need at least 4 hours of sunlight a day, but do better with at least 6 hours of sun. These are winter hardy in zones 5a, 5b, 6a, 6b, 7a, 7b.
