  • Vibrant pink flowers perfect for shaded areas!

Are you looking for vibrant color for a shaded area in your landscape? Catalina Pink Wishbone Flower is just the plant for you. Torenia, also called wishbone flowers, are herbaceous annuals that sport tubular flowers of rose to blush pink with yellow flared stems from mid spring to early winter. Small, pointy leaves have a fragrant smell, remaining green throughout the growing season.

Torenia Catalina Pink has a trailing growth habit that makes it an excellent choice for hanging baskets and mixed container plantings alike. Plants are neatly mounded, very heat tolerant and are an excellent shade blooming variety that is perfect for areas prone to downy mildew. A great choice for attracting bees and hummingbirds to your yard, luckily it is not attractive to deer. Because of its trailing habit, it is best used as a spiller, but can also be utilized as a filler.

Catalina Pink Wishbone Flower Care

Torenia Catalina Pink is a warm-season bedding plant growing best in full shade to partial sun in zones 10 - 11. It grows 8 – 12 inches tall at maturity and trails up to 24 inches wide. Performs best in average to evenly moist conditions, but will not tolerate standing water. It is not particular as to soil type or pH and is a low maintenance, easy care plant. It is somewhat tolerant of urban pollution. Plant after the danger of frost thru summer. No deadheading or pruning required unless to clear dieback. Slow-release fertilizer or compost applied to garden beds and regular water-soluble fertilization of potted plants will greatly enhance growth and performance.

In containers and hanging baskets, plant near the edges where it can spill gracefully over the pot. When growing plants in outdoor containers and baskets, they may require more frequent watering than they would in the yard or garden where they can be used in mass plantings and as a border.

Catalina Pink Wishbone Flower Spacing

Spacing should be about 8 – 10 inches apart. When grown in masses or used as a bedding plant, individual plants should be spaced approximately 18 inches apart.

    beautiful display

I've been looking for the perfect flowers to put in my hanging baskets for a while now and I'm so happy I found these. It's also quite easy to grow and maintain this flower as it seems hardy enough to survive just about anything, but will still bloom beautifully.
