The Centennial Blush™ Magnolia is an absolute stunner that will be the center of attention during the spring and will continue to provide lush good looks throughout the rest of the growing season. This plant features double pale pink flowers with long, narrow, overlapping petals. Each bloom is 5-inches wide, and this plant blooms at every node so that the entire shrub will be covered in blooms during the spring. This is a deciduous plant, and the flowers will emerge before the foliage for a unique but still spectacular display. The 5-inch long broad, oval leaves appear after the flowers fall away. The foliage turns yellow in the fall before dropping in the winter.

This plant is a looker that grows as a perennial in USDA zones 4 through 8. The Centennial Blush™ Magnolia maintains an upright, conical tree-like shape and is a large plant that will grow 12 to 18 feet tall. Feature this beauty in a border or as a specimen or focal point. The fragrant blooms have a delicate but clear scent.

Centennial Blush™ Magnolia Care

Full sun with some afternoon shade is ideal for the Centennial Blush™ Magnolia. This plant requires rich, moist, but well-drained soils, high in organic material. Magnolia plants normally need water weekly for the first couple of years and will need water a couple of times a month after they are completely acclimated.

Pruning is unnecessary, and this plant naturally maintains a good shape. Support healthy growth by applying a balanced fertilizer every other month during the growing season, starting in the second or third year after planting.

Centennial Blush™ Magnolia Spacing

The Centennial Blush™ Magnolia is an upright plant with a conical tree-like shape that will reach 12 to 18 feet tall. The branches will spread 10 to 15 feet wide. Space this stunner at least 8 to 14 feet apart from other plants when creating a border or mass planting. This Magnolia should be planted 10 to 12 feet away from a building or structure.
