The Charm Hydrangea, hydrangea macrophylla ‘Charm’ is a fast growing medium size hydrangea with large rosy pink to rosy blue blooms that arrive in early summer. Color of blooms dependent of pH of soil. Blooms are popular for cutting and can be preserved for dried arrangements. Outstanding as an accent plant, mass planting or in the shrub border.
Charm Hydrangea Care
Plant in well-drained soil. Water to establish and during periods of drought or extreme temperatures. Blooms on old wood, so any pruning should be done after the first flush of blooms during the summer. Late pruning will decrease blooming the following year. Fertilize in early spring with an acid fertilizer if bluer shade of blooms desired.
Charm Hydrangea Spacing
In the shrub border or in mass plantings, space 8 to 9 feet apart.
