CLASSICO Premium Size Comparison

Both models are designed for larger plants. CLASSICO 70 provides significantly more growing space and a deeper planting area, making it a good choice for plants that need additional room for their roots.

Measurements and capacities are approximate. CLASSICO 60 and 70 feature LECHUZA's conventional all-in-one sub-irrigation system. These large models should not be confused with the smaller CLASSICO LS planters featuring removable planting liners.

How the Self-Watering System Works

CLASSICO Premium uses LECHUZA's integrated sub-irrigation system. The reservoir stores water beneath the growing medium, helping established plant roots access moisture as needed.

1. Prepare Your Planter: Assemble the included irrigation system and add the supplied LECHUZA-PON drainage substrate according to the instructions.
2. Add Your Plant: Position the plant in the growing area, then fill around its roots with an appropriate potting medium.
3. Establish the Roots: Water from above for approximately 2-3 weeks, checking the growing medium regularly while roots develop.
4. Begin Reservoir Watering: Fill the water reservoir halfway initially. If the water level decreases during the following days, follow LECHUZA's instructions for filling to the maximum level.
5. Allow a Dry Phase: Monitor the water level indicator and allow an appropriate dry period before refilling, based on your plant's moisture requirements.

Outdoor Use: Remove the drainage screw to allow excess rainwater to escape. Watering frequency depends on the plant, sunlight, temperature, and growing conditions. Frost-resistant construction does not guarantee winter survival for plants grown in containers.
