The old-fashioned, fragrant pink blooms of the Climbing Colette™ Rose are perfect for adding scent and interest to a vertical space. A climbing hybrid, Rosa 'Meiroupis' grows to around 8 to 10 feet tall and develops a lush green backdrop against which its pink flowers pop. The intricate and delicate blooms will not only entice you but also local pollinators seeking food.
Impressive disease resistance and winter hardiness down to zone 5 make this climbing rose easy to grow and care for. As a vigorous climber, it is ideal for using to cover a wall or fence with the right support. It would also make a wonderful specimen for growing up an arbor or archway.
Climbing Colette™ Rose Care
The Climbing Colette™ Rose grows best and puts on the best floral display when it is grown in full sun and in fertile and moist, yet well-drained soil. Water frequently while it is establishing and from then on to keep the soil evenly moist, but not waterlogged. A rose-specific fertilizer applied as directed will help support its vigor and flowering potential. Mulching annually with organic matter will not only help prevent moisture loss over the summer but also limit weed growth as well.
As with other climbing roses, any pruning is best performed in late winter when it is dormant. Remove any dead, diseased or damaged material before shortening the flowering side shoots back to 2 to 3 buds.
Climbing Colette™ Rose Spacing
Over time the Climbing Colette™ Rose can reach a height of 8 to 10 feet and a spread of around 5 feet. Multiple specimens can be spaced from 4 to 6 feet apart to cover a long wall or other structure.
