Phlox are like flower bouquets in your yard that you can enjoy for a long time. Cloudburst Phlox blooms in early summer, bursting with lavender-purple flowers that have pink eyes. You, hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies will love the color burst. But there's more – Cloudburst Phlox has a sweet fragrance while blooming.
Cloudburst Phlox is a tall cushion phlox, growing in a rounded, bouquet-like shape that is about 28 inches high and 42 inches around. Even after the flowers fade in late summer, the dark green foliage provides fall color. This container thriller also looks pretty framing a walkway or entryway or as a summer anchor of color in a garden bed. Cloudburst Phlox is hardy in cold and some heat and grows in regions 4 through 8.
Cloudburst Phlox Care
Plant Cloudburst Phlox in a spot or container that gets full sun. It does best in fertile soil that is neutral or slightly acidic. Give your phlox some slow-release fertilizer or organic plant food in late winter or early spring to support plant growth and flowering. The plants need regular watering and fairly moist soil.
Cloudburst Phlox Spacing
Cloudburst Phlox also makes a striking groundcover when you plant several near each other. Place them about 42 inches apart from the center of one plant to another so they will barely touch and cover the ground, but not crowd each other.
