Agastache is a low-maintenance perennial that boasts showy flowers from early summer until fall. The Colorful Agastache Collection features three plants with different-colored flowers for a curated selection. The collection includes the Agastache ‘Mango Tango’, 'Peachy Keen’, and 'Rosie Posie’. Tubular flowers densely bloom along tall spikes. The flowers are orange, peach, and purplish-pink shades, with contrasting calyxes in a slightly darker hue for added color and visual interest.
The dense, clump-forming growth habit makes these plants a good pick for a mixed bed or border. Line a walkway or add height to a container. Feature the Colorful Agastache Collection in a busy area to enjoy the lovely blooms and the fragrance. Agastache is heat tolerant, allowing it to thrive in hot summer climates. Bees and other pollinators appreciate the showy flowers, but foragers like deer leave the plants alone.
Colorful Agastache Collection Care
Plant the Colorful Agastache Collection in full sun and in average well-drained soil. Agastache prefers soil with a neutral pH and low fertility. Young plants need consistent water. Established plants are drought tolerant, but look their best with watering during an extended dry period. Fertilize lightly in the spring with a slow-release formula every 1-2 years.
Agastache is an herbaceous perennial and most of its growth dies after the first frost. Trim the growth by half in the fall, and leave some growth to insulate the roots from chilly temperatures. Cut spent growth to ground level in late winter or early spring before new growth appears.
Colorful Agastache Collection Spacing
The plants in the Colorful Agastache Collection reach 20 to 24 inches tall and 26 to 32 inches wide. Space plants 30 to 36 inches apart to create a full-looking bed.
