Foliage Interest

For something rather unusual, why not try this Coppertone Sedum Succulent? Unlike most other sedums, it develops bronze to copper-colored tones across its green foliage. As a small succulent stonecrop, it grows to no more than 6 inches tall and sometimes produces white star-shaped flowers in the summer.

When grown in the right conditions, the Coppertone Sedum Succulent requires minimal ongoing care. Being drought tolerant, once established it will rarely need watering, which is ideal if you are often away. Try planting it in a gravel bed, a rock garden, or even in a small container.

Coppertone Sedum Succulent Care

The only conditions this Coppertone Sedum Succulent really requires are full sun and free-draining soil. It will need a little water until it is established, after which you can allow the soil to dry out in between waterings. Suitable for growing in zones 9 to 11, Coppertone Sedum should be overwintered indoors in colder climates. No supplementary fertilizer is usually required.

The Coppertone Sedum Succulent does not require any regular pruning. However, you can remove any spent flowers and dead leaves as they appear.

Coppertone Sedum Succulent Spacing

The Coppertone Sedum Succulent grows to around 3 to 6 inches tall, and over time, up to 2 feet wide. A plant spacing of around 18 inches will allow this sedum to loosely knit together.
