The Coral Crème Drop™ Garden Phlox is a long-blooming plant, which is good news because that means you’ll have plenty of opportunities to enjoy the beautiful flowers during the summer. The flowers are coral in color with hints of white and have dark pink eyes. The showy flowers densely bloom, creating a bold burst of color. Elliptical green foliage provides a lush backdrop for the striking flowers.
Phlox has an upright, mounded growth habit and a well-branched structure. This plant grows as a perennial in USDA zones 4 through 8 and does very well in sunny beds and borders. Feature Coral Crème Drop™ Garden Phlox in a container for even more options to include the bold flowers in an outdoor space. The fragrant blooms attract pollinators like hummingbirds and butterflies.
Coral Crème Drop™ Garden Phlox Care
Plant Phlox in full sun. This cultivar is mildew-resistant, but increased light levels will keep the plants dry and further reduce the risk of mildew and fungus. Water the soil around the plant and try to keep the plant dry when it’s time to water. Plants need consistent moisture for the first growing season but will need water weekly or when the top few inches of soil dry out once established. Soil should be rich, moist, and well-drained. Feed Phlox a balanced fertilizer during the spring.
Cut back growth in late spring or early summer to maintain a full and bushy look. Deadhead the plant to further maintain a compact size and more prolific blooming. Divide this plant as needed every few years.
Coral Crème Drop™ Garden Phlox Spacing
Coral Crème Drop™ Garden Phlox will grow 18 to 22 inches tall and 18 to 24 inches wide. Avoid crowding, so air can circulate and space plants 18 to 24 inches apart.
