Helpful Tip: Compatible LECHUZA models can share planting liners of the same size. The CUBE 40 liner is also used in certain CUBICO and TRIO configurations. Confirm compatibility before exchanging liners.
How the Self-Watering System Works
- Prepare Your Planter: Assemble the included self-watering components and add the supplied LECHUZA-PON drainage substrate according to the instructions.
- Add Your Plants: Fill the planting liner with appropriate growing medium and gently position plants with room for their roots.
- Establish the Roots: Water from above during the first approximately three weeks, checking moisture regularly while roots develop toward the reservoir.
- Begin Reservoir Watering: After establishment, add water through the filling shaft according to LECHUZA's instructions. Use the water level indicator to avoid overfilling.
- Monitor and Refill: Refill when appropriate for the plant's needs, allowing suitable dry phases between watering cycles.
Outdoor Use: Remove the drainage screw so excess rainwater can escape. Watering frequency depends on plant type, sunlight, temperature, and seasonal growing conditions. The reservoir reduces manual watering but does not eliminate the need to monitor moisture.
