Curly Fries is a well-loved, award-winning hosta that is easy to grow in the shady garden. The chartreuse foliage has narrow leaves that have a unique rippled edge that lends an extraordinary textured effect to a shady garden scene. This is a small hosta variety that only reaches 6” in height, and 16” in spread. This petite growth habit is another aspect of the Curly Fries Hosta that makes it exceptional. You won’t find another Hosta quite like it!

Curly Fries Hosta is a hardy and adaptable perennial in Zones 3-9. It adds bright color and one-of-a-kind texture to part-shade gardens, containers, borders, and edging. Try this small hosta in a rock garden or a narrow, small-scale garden to make the most of its small size.

Curly Fries Hosta Care

This is an adaptable and easy-to-grow hosta that requires partial to full shade. Site in a location that enjoys morning sun to get the most vibrant foliage. Acidic-to-neutral soil pH is best for this plant. Plant in moist, organic soil for best performance. Well-drained soil is ideal. Be sure to keep Curly Fries watered in dry spells.

Slugs or snails could damage the foliage of this hosta, but if you keep your eye out for them and remove them before they start their feast, you can prevent damage. Cut flower stems after bloom to encourage vigorous growth. Damaged or discolored leaves should be cut back to the ground.

Curly Fries Hosta Spacing

This is a small Hosta variety that does not require much space in the garden. Allow for 16” of space from other plants to allow room for the narrow leaves to arch and show off their rippled edges.
