Weigelas are traditional rustic or cottage garden favorites, but new varieties have outstanding features that expand their landscape use. Czechmark Trilogy Weigela is a perfect example, and a truly amazing plant that shows off three bloom colors on one shrub! White, pink and red flowers appear in spring above bright, apple green foliage. And the shrub does all this with very little maintenance.

Czechmark Trilogy Weigela grows to between 3 and 4 feet high in a pretty, mounded shape. With its relatively low height, this weigela is perfect as a three-color thriller in a container or planted in a row to form a colorful low hedge or border. Watch for blooms in spring and summer and for the foliage to drop by winter. Weigela is hardy in zones 4 through 8.

Czechmark Trilogy Weigela Care

Just give your plant at least 6 hours of sun a day for best growth and color. If you live in zone 8 or a slightly hotter climate, a little afternoon shade will help. You can boost your weigela with a slow-release fertilizer in early spring, but it needs little other care. Plant the shrub in soil that drains well and add about 2 or 3 inches of mulch to help retain water. Czechmark Trilogy Weigela needs no deadheading and can be pruned immediately after flowering finishes if you want to control its size or shape.

Czechmark Trilogy Weigela Spacing

Czechmark Trilogy Weigela gets its name from the country where the stunning plant was developed – the Czech Republic. But it certainly checks off every feature a shrub should have, including easy care, multiple colors and lots of flexibility in the landscape. If you plant a border of nothing but Czechmark Trilogy, space the plants about 3.5 to 5.5 feet from one another.

Interesting Fact(s) - These beautiful weigela were developed in the Czech Republic, where the names comes from.
