Long considered old-fashion, dahlias are enjoying a resurgence of popularity among gardeners, prized especially as cut flowers. Dalina Grande Castillo’s wine red color looks great when planted as filler in a container. Cluster three to five plants amid perennials to enhance the blooming season in the landscape for. Butterflies regularly visit dahlias. This upright dahlia grows many flowering stems from the base of the plant. Grow this dahlia in areas with direct sunlight, but avoid blaring hot west or south exposure, which may cause the flowers to fade. Dahlias do well with full eastern exposure. It has average water needs, so water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Don’t over water because it may cause the plant to rot.
