For glorious color from planting to frost, choose this dazzling dahlia. The large blooms are colored in vibrant shades of orange. Its upright habit grows 15-18 inches high. This is an easy-care, long-blooming beauty.
Dalina Grande Tequila will attract butterflies to your garden. Interestingly, dahlias were first cultivated by the Aztecs. They get their name from an 18th century Swedish botanist, Andreas Dahl. Perfect for a combination container, this flower makes a fantastic thriller. A mass planting will provide continuous color.
Dalina Grande Tequila Dahlia Care
For best results, plant in full sun in light, fertile, well-drained soil. If you have heavy soil such as clay, add some compost. Dahlias benefit from a 5-10-5 fertilizer once a month. Deadhead the spent flowers to extend the bloom.
You can overwinter dahlias: After frost, dig up the clump, trim the stalks, shake off loose dirt and allow to dry for 1-2 days. Wrap in newspaper and place in a box, label, and store in a cool dry place.
Dalina Grande Tequila Dahlia Spacing
Space plants at least 12-18 inches, center on center, in the landscape.
