This unique blue flowered speedwell produces spires of lightly scented blossoms on a small well-branched base from spring into fall. They don’t need to be exposed to cold weather over the winter to bloom so they can be successfully grown in cool to warmer winter climates.

Dark Blue Moody Blues Veronica is a fantastic choice for the front of border gardens, mass plantings, along walkways, patios and low decks and as a container plant. The flower spikes can be used to create bouquets. Butterflies, hummingbirds and bees will be attracted to the flower spikes. This perennial will reach 12 to 14 inches in width and height at maturity. The base of the plant grows in a mounding form topped with large flower spikes.

Dark Blue Moody Blues Veronica Care

The perennial can be cut back after the first flush of blooms to encourage reblooming. Deadheading will also encourage reblooming. Plant Dark Blue Moody Blues Veronica in sunny to partially sunny locations in well-drained soils in USDA plant hardiness zones 6 to 9. It is mildly susceptible to mildew but resistant to deer and rabbits.

Dark Blue Moody Blues Veronica Spacing

Space individual plants 6 to 12 inches apart, center on center. In garden planters, ensure the container is at least 8 inches wide.
