Add height and color to an outdoor space with the Delgenius™ Blue Fabulosa Delphinium. This new addition to the Delphinium Delgenius series boasts 6-petaled flowers in a rich indigo-blue shade and crisp white eyes. Each tall stalk is covered with blooms for an impressive display. The summertime flowers bloom from June through August for dependable color. The tall flower spikes emerge from a bed of frilly green foliage.
This Delphinium has an upright, well-branched structure and is low maintenance for added convenience. Feature the Delgenius™ Blue Fabulosa Delphinium near the middle or back of a mixed bed, plant several to create a stunning mass planting, or add height to a container. The tall flower spires make excellent cut flowers. The blooms also support pollinators, including butterflies and hummingbirds, but the plant is deer resistant. The Delgenius™ Blue Fabulosa Delphinium grows in zones 3 through 9.
Delgenius™ Blue Fabulosa Delphinium Care
This Delphinium needs full sun, and a spot that receives at least 6 hours of sunlight is ideal. Rich, moist, well-drained soil that is slightly acidic supports growth. Water consistently, especially during a dry spell. Fertilize Delphinium using a balanced plant food when planting and again at midsummer.
Deadhead the plant by removing stalks after the flowers fade. Removing spent flowers encourages reblooming. Trim the growth to ground level after the first frost.
Delgenius™ Blue Fabulosa Delphinium Spacing
The tall flower spikes of the Delgenius™ Blue Fabulosa Delphinium stand 18 to 24 inches, and the plant spreads just as wide. Space each Delphinium 1 to 3 feet apart to allow the plants room to grow but still create a continuous planting.
