Magnificent architecture for a cottage-style garden. This is a must-have true blue beauty. Delphina™ Light Blue White Bee Larkspur is a wonderful compact specimen to admire. It is compact and sturdy when swaying in the wind. The flower spikes display showy blue double blooms that stand proud. This is one majestic perennial that is a joy to see year after year every Spring into Summer.

The birds and the bees visit these showy flowers frequently. Deer and rabbits do not have a liking for this plant. This may be because all parts of this plant are toxic if consumed. Large groups planted together make a stunning visual appearance. The flower spikes reach heights of 14 to 18 inches perfect for the more natural and informal borders. Larkspur flowers are also delightful for cut flower arrangements.

Delphina Light Blue White Bee Larkspur Care

Full sunlight is the preferable location Larkspur. It has average watering needs and prefers well-draining slightly moist soil. Just add compost or fertilizer once annually to help it bloom and grow sufficiently. After the first set of blooms fade in midsummer, trim the spent flowers. Another invigorating flush of flowers will last until early Fall.

This is a hardy perennial that overwinters in zones 4 to 8. The best way to overwinter larkspur is to add 2 inches of mulch to help keep roots protected and moist during the coldest times of the year. Trimming these plants back is optional once the first hard frost arrives, but leaving the garden untidy works just as well.

Delphina Light Blue White Bee Larkspur Spacing

Planting large drifts of Larkspur is a remarkable sight to see. Create a cottage garden and paint a sea of blue with Delphina™ Light Blue White Bee Larkspur. Plant in drifts by staggering plants spacing them 14 to 18 inches apart.
