Echinacea ‘Raspberry Ripple’ from the Double Dipped® series produces round, raspberry-pink flowers packed with wide, overlapping petals and a dark central eye. Each bloom sits confidently on thick, well-branched stems, rising 22–26 inches tall with a spread of 18–24 inches. Many double coneflowers struggle to support their heavy heads, but this one stays upright through summer heat and rain. The mounded dark green foliage forms a solid base that looks substantial even before flowering begins. We like planting it mid-border where those oversized blooms can be appreciated up close without staking.
Double Dipped® Raspberry Ripple delivers a long midsummer to late-summer show in Zones 4–8. Butterflies and bees visit regularly, while deer typically move on to easier options. Bred for landscape strength as well as flower form, it tolerates heat and periodic dry weather with little complaint. It fits beautifully into prairie-style plantings, sunny cottage borders, or bold patio containers.
Double Dipped® Raspberry Ripple Coneflower Care
Provide full sun for best branching and the fullest flowers, although light afternoon shade is tolerated in hotter regions. Plant in sharply drained soil; it adapts to sandy, average, or moderately fertile ground with a pH from slightly acidic to mildly alkaline. Water deeply at planting and continue regular watering through its first season to establish a strong crown. After establishment, irrigate only during extended dry spells. Skip heavy feeding, as overly rich soil can reduce stem strength.
Remove faded blooms to encourage additional buds, cutting just above a side shoot. In late fall, allow some cones to remain for birds and winter texture. Cut stems back to the base in early spring before new growth pushes. Divide clumps only if the center thins after several years.
Double Dipped® Raspberry Ripple Coneflower Spacing
Space plants 18–24 inches apart to allow airflow and full branching. For containers, select a pot at least 16 inches wide to support its mature size. Combine with switchgrass, upright sedum, and catmint for a layered planting with bold flowers and contrasting texture.
