Growing Zones
A great addition to any garden, the Double Martini Stonecrop Sedum provides interest for months on end and is even drought tolerant. Producing olive-green leaves that contrast beautifully against its red stems, this perennial is tough and easy to grow. Loved by pollinators, the Double Martini Stonecrop Sedum displays pink flowers from late summer onwards. This sedum loves the sun and is perfect for growing in a warm and sunny border.
Once established, the Double Martini Stonecrop Sedum is drought tolerant and hardy. Unlike some varieties, this cultivar grows with an upright and erect habit. It is exceptionally cold hardy and grows in zones 4 to 8, and is even deer resistant. The Double Martini Stonecrop Sedum is often used in mass plantings and dry gardens, and is ideal for adding some late-season color to the garden.
Double Martini Stonecrop Sedum Care
As an easy-to-grow perennial, the Double Martini Stonecrop Sedum likes to be grown on poor to average soil that is free-draining. Fertilizing or overly rich soil may cause this plant to flop. Preferring full sun, this sedum loves a hot and sunny border. Watering is required until it is established, after which, it is relatively drought tolerant.
As a low-maintenance plant, the Double Martini Stonecrop Sedum only needs to be pruned once a year. It is best to wait to cut back the plant to ground level in spring, as its seed heads can be left to provide winter interest over the colder months. To promote bushy growth or to control its height, the growing tips can be pinched out in early summer.
Double Martini Stonecrop Sedum Spacing
This stunning perennial grows to about 12 inches high by 18 inches wide over time. If planting out in groups, space plants 18 inches apart.
