The foliage of the Double Take Scarlet Quince is a deep green. The blooms it produces are double blooms and are a bright red. Bloom season takes place in the spring. The Double Take Scarlet Quince reaches a height of four to five feet and has a spread of three to four feet. For best results, plant in full sun as this plant is a heat loving plant. It can tolerate some shade, but it needs at minimum 6 hours of sun a day. It has average water needs and requires well drained soil. The Double Take Scarlet Quince is adaptable to most soils and those with varying PH levels. This plant is drought tolerant once established. Controlled release fertilizer should be applied in the spring. Pruning is not necessary, trimming to shape can be done after flowering.
