Dreameria® Dreamland Thrift turns a once short-lived spring bloomer into a season-long performer. It produces rounded clusters of coral-pink flowers from spring until frost, rising just above a tight mound of grassy green foliage. At 10–12 inches tall and wide, it keeps a clean, compact shape that works in both containers and borders. This patented selection was bred to extend bloom far beyond traditional thrift varieties.
The tidy clump stays evergreen in milder zones and handles heat better than older forms. Butterflies and other pollinators visit the globe-shaped blooms, while deer usually ignore the foliage. Armeria pseudarmeria ‘Dreamland’ performs well in coastal settings thanks to its salt tolerance, and it fits naturally into rock gardens or gravel beds. Over time, it forms a dense cushion that resists weeds and softens edges.
Dreameria® Dreamland Thrift Care
Plant in full sun for strongest bloom, although light afternoon shade is acceptable in hotter climates. Choose sharply drained soil, preferably sandy or loamy, with a neutral to slightly acidic pH between 6.0 and 7.0. Avoid heavy clay or sites that stay wet through winter. Water Dreameria® Dreamland deeply during the first growing season. Afterward, allow the top two inches of soil to dry before watering again. Apply a balanced fertilizer once a month during active growth, especially in containers where nutrients leach more quickly.
After each major flush of bloom, shear flower stems back to the foliage to encourage repeat flowering. In late winter, tidy the clump by trimming away any weathered leaves. Division is possible in spring, though established plants prefer not to be disturbed frequently.
Dreameria® Dreamland Thrift Spacing
Space 12–14 inches apart in landscape borders or edging to create a continuous ribbon of color. In container planting, one plant fills a 10–12 inch pot neatly, or combine it with creeping phlox and yarrow for a drought-tolerant patio display. In sunny perennial beds, pair Dreameria® Dreamland Thrift with daylilies and coreopsis to build a layered planting that carries color from late spring through fall.
