Growing Zones
Your neighbors will be green with envy when they see ‘Emerald Envy’ growing in your garden. Glossy green leaves, fluffy white flowers in the spring and deep maroon leaves in the fall! The flower buds are small and fuzzy. Pollinators will cover this plant when in bloom but the real star of this plant is the foliage! The glossy leaves shine in the sunlight and in the fall, the leaves give you another show of color.
‘Emerald Envy’ is the ideal plant breaking up the monotony of all green plants because the leaves are so shiny! You can use it as windbreak, a screen, a hedge, a focal point or even in a large container for the patio. It is also shade tolerant for those smaller landscapes where sunlight may be lacking. This plant is deciduous, so after the leaves turn maroon in the fall, the leaves off exposing the berries.
Emerald Envy Viburnum Care
Emerald Envy Viburnum is native to North America and are a workhorse in the garden. They are disease and insect resistant as well as deer resistant. Pruning Emerald Envy Viburnum requires very little trimming. Provide moist but well-draining soil and widely adaptable to a variety of growing conditions. When planting it is ideal to add a slow release fertilizer for acid loving plants. It is hardy from Zone 6a-9b.
Emerald Envy Viburnum Spacing
Growing it as a hedge or windbreak, it should be spaced 8-10 ft. apart on center since it grows 6-8ft. tall and wide. If planting in a container, you will need to use a large or extra large sized planter.
