Adding color and scent to your garden is incredibly easy with the Enchanted Peace™ hybrid tea rose. This is a beautiful introduction that retains the fragrance of older rose types, but with the disease resistance of modern roses. The gorgeous, bicolored, sherbet petals form fully double flowers that are long-lasting on the shrub or in a vase. The foliage remains deep green all season long and makes a great backdrop for other blooming perennials and shrubs.
This hybrid tea rose has an upright growth habit and compact shape. Enchanted Peace™ is at home in a formal rose garden or informal cottage garden, and grows well in containers to add curb appeal and elegance to your entryway. Add this hybrid tea to a flowering hedge for long-lasting color along a fenceline. This shrub rose has improved resistance to disease, making it a breeze for any gardener to grow.
Enchanted Peace™ Rose Care
Hybrid tea roses thrive in well-draining soil that is loamy and moderately fertile. Heavy clay must be amended with plenty of organic compost to improve drainage. Roses require soil that stays consistently moist, although soils that have drainage issues like seasonal flooding will not promote good growth and can kill this plant over time. Watering with drip irrigation or soaker hoses is ideal for keeping the foliage dry and less susceptible to pests and diseases.
Fertilize with a proprietary granular rose food twice in a growing season. Apply the product over the root zone as new growth appears early in the spring and again as buds begin to form.
Deadheading the spent flowers during the growing season helps to keep the overall shape of the plant tidy and encourages further flower buds. Prune in the early spring to keep the shrub to size and remove any branches damaged during the winter. Removing damaged, diseased, diagonal, and dying branches annually lessens the chance that diseases or pests will be a problem later in the year. Removing older canes that are crossing opens up the inside of the shrub to allow for good air circulation.
Enchanted Peace™ Rose Spacing
The mature height of Enchanted Peace™ is 5 feet with a spread of 2-3 feet, making this a medium-sized but compact shrub. Place plants at 2 feet in the center when planting in a garden bed or as part of a flowering hedge. Container-grown Roses will require a pot with at least an 18-inch diameter or 10-gallon capacity.
