The striking, showy flowers of the Fantasiatic Hot-Spot Pink Lily or Lilium asiatic make this plant stand out. The large 6-pointed flowers are a bright shade of pink but feature a deep maroon near the center. Enjoy the flowers from late spring to early summer. The bi-color blooms are lovely and look amazing as cut or dried flowers. The lance-shaped dark green foliage is glossy and contrasts the pink blooms nicely.
The upright growth habit and medium size make the Fantasiatic Hot-Spot Pink Lily a good choice for the middle or front of a mixed bed. The flowers are tall enough to be admired but could be lost behind something taller. Feature this lily in a container for height and a bold burst of color. Grow the low-maintenance Fantasiatic Hot-Spot Pink Lily in zones 3 through 8. Pollinators favor the flowers, but deer mostly leave this plant alone.
Fantasiatic Hot-Spot Pink Lily Care
Plenty of sunlight is necessary for the Fantasiatic Hot-Spot Pink Lily to bloom. Plant this lily in an area that receives full to partial sun. Rich, slightly acidic soil with good drainage is preferred. Asiatic lilies need about one inch of water per week. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in the spring to encourage new growth.
Fantasiatic Hot-Spot Pink Lilies do not need pruning. Remove dead or damaged growth throughout the season; otherwise, let the foliage naturally die back in the fall before removing growth.
Fantasiatic Hot-Spot Pink Lily Spacing
The Fantasiatic Hot-Spot Pink Lily reaches 16 to 18 inches tall and spreads 12 to 14 inches wide. Space plants about 12 to 14 inches apart to create a full and dense planting or space them farther apart so the showy blooms stand out.
