Growing Zones
Dark salmon buds open to reveal hybrid tea-shaped blooms measuring 4 to 5 inches wide, making the First Editions® Patriot Dream Rose a beautiful addition to a landscape. The double flowers continue to bloom from spring through fall. The leathery, medium-green foliage has finely serrated edges. This shrub has an upright growth habit and a full form.
Use the First Editions® Patriot Dream Rose as a specimen plant, or plant several to create a foundation planting or stunning border. The bold flowers make this shrub a natural focal point, and the fruity fragrance can be enjoyed indoors when the flowers are cut and displayed in an arrangement. The leaves are disease resistant for added convenience and ease of maintenance. Grow this rose in zones 5 through 9.
First Editions® Patriot Dream Rose Care
Plant this rose in average, moist but well-drained soil that is slightly acidic to neutral. The Patriot Dream Rose needs full sun, and established plants should receive one inch of water weekly. Apply a fertilizer intended for roses in the spring and again every four to six weeks.
Remove damaged growth and crossed canes in early spring. Trim back growth by one-third to encourage new, bushier growth. Apply a thick layer of mulch around the base of the shrub in the fall to ward off cold temperatures.
First Editions® Patriot Dream Rose Spacing
The First Editions® Patriot Dream Rose stands 3 to 4 feet tall and 2 to 3 feet wide. Space rose bushes 3 feet apart to allow for adequate airflow. This rose will grow well in a large container at least 16 inches in diameter.
