For a pop of color in the early spring, and really at any time during the year, look no further than the Forever Red Coral Bells. This flowering shrub has a deep, captivating red color that adds bright contrast to any landscape or container. Not only does it provide a pop of red foliage, but it also blooms delicate, bell shaped white flowers in the summer. This is a versatile option, and can provide contrasting ground cover in borders as well.
Forever Red Coral Bells are a low maintenance perennial shrub that will continue to mound year after year, and is widely hardy in zones 4-9. This shrub attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. To give this shrub more to boast about, it’s deer resistant and rabbit resistant. These coral bells would be a beautiful border addition, or outside of fences where other shrubs would otherwise be at risk with wildlife.
Forever Red™ Coral Bells Care
This perennial will thrive in either full, partial sun, or partial shade. This plant will thrive best in moist, well drained soil. It should be fed in the spring with organic fertilizer. Forever Red Coral Bells don’t have a specific soil requirement, so long as it is moist and well drained.
To maintain the compact nature, old foliage can be pruned in the fall. Deadheading spent blooms will help to produce more blooms.
Forever Red™ Coral Bells Spacing
This coral bell can grow six to eight inches in height. It is common to grow as wide as 12 to 18 inches, so it should be spaced accordingly.
